The facilities are simple but clean and tidy. The bathroom has been renovated, the hot water is hot, the air conditioning cools well, and there’s a hairdryer. The counter staff are happy to help with any problems. The location is great, close to Luodong Night Market and other places to eat. The owner can arrange a parking space.

I was nervous about staying near a night market because I worried the place might be dirty, but I'm really glad we picked this hotel in Yilan. It felt welcoming and homey, not like a high-end design hotel, and I’m grateful the owner insisted on helping us. The owner and staff were so kind. They showed us where to park and even offered to join the beds for our child's safety, which hotels usually don't like doing. Our online booking didn't include breakfast, but the owner offered it anyway so our child could eat first thing. It was simple and refreshing, and I felt fine giving it to my child. The room was small but clean. I saw the owner overseeing the cleaning in the morning. The air conditioning was already on when we arrived, the hot water worked well, the shower gel smelled lovely, and the bed was very comfortable. During our two-day, one-night stay in a double room, though, the slippers and fridge seemed old and worn, with some black stains. I hesitated to use them. I’ll definitely support this hotel on future trips to Yilan.

The rooms were on the small side, but very clean, and Guocheng had a pleasant feel. We were in Luodong on a group tour, and this was my first time staying at Guocheng. The location made it awkward for large vehicles to pick people up or drop them off. Breakfast also couldn't handle a big group all at once because of the restaurant's limitations. Disposable toiletries weren't supplied for environmental reasons. Even so, I'd strongly recommend Guocheng if you're visiting Luodong.
