Winnie Homestay

The B&B is run with care, though it isn't cheap.

That latex mattress was so comfortable I could barely make myself get up. The rooms were clean and comfortable too, and the meals were healthy, with very little oil or salt. I stayed four nights last week, and the landlady was warm and attentive, always ready to help when we ran into a problem. We ate and chatted together and had a great time, she really treated us like family. The only small issue was the hot water. I assumed it would always be available, but the landlady explained that the power wasn't on yet in the early afternoon. On my last night I showered at 1 a.m. and the water suddenly went cold. I was exhausted, so I finished quickly and went to bed, then forgot to mention it to her. I'll visit the landlady again when I'm next in Taitung. Wishing her good health, lots of business, and all the best! 😴😰🙋🙏

The mountain views and fresh air along this lovely road reminded me a bit of Karuizawa, Japan. Sister Shijie, the guesthouse owner, was warm and attentive. The bathroom facilities could use a little improvement.

Right across the street from a 7-Eleven, this guesthouse is conveniently placed near Luye Highland. The rooms were clean, and the landlady made a delicious vegetarian breakfast.
