Check-in was quick and easy, and they let us in early since we arrived ahead of schedule. The room was comfortable and very clean. The location is perfect, right in central Magong and just a three-minute walk from the bus station. One thing to know: there’s no elevator to the rooms.

There’s plenty within a few minutes’ walk, including restaurants, convenience stores, and souvenir shops, and the Magong bus terminal is only 2-3 minutes away. The staff were very kind and did their best to handle all our questions and requests. The room itself was nothing special, though. The furniture felt sticky, perhaps from age, and we saw tiny ants, which bothered us. The big reason for my 3-star rating was the noise and the landlord’s presence in the building. Our first night was very quiet, as if there were no other guests. Then on the second evening we heard a woman shouting angrily, followed by a child screaming, and then a man and woman arguing. The woman’s voice was unusually loud, and since we couldn’t understand what she was saying, it felt even more frightening. I contacted staff in a panic. They came right away and said they’d speak to whoever was making the noise. I could still hear it while talking to them and pointed it out, which seemed to confuse them. It turned out the voice was the building’s landlord, who apparently lives in the basement. Staff asked him to stop shouting, and the voices stopped. But at 5 AM the next morning, a child screamed again, an adult sounded like they were scolding the child, and the entrance sliding door slammed loudly. I don’t think anyone could sleep through that. It was a full course of noise. 😂 I don’t know whether the landlord lives there regularly or was just visiting, but it felt a little scary to think that someone other than a guest could enter the inn and walk around inside. It’s a shame, since the location is excellent and the staff are so nice.

The room was simple and clean, and one of the female receptionists was really friendly, thank you. But the soundproofing was poor: construction noise woke me at 9 AM and felt like it was about to rupture my eardrums. I hope they’ll let me know in advance if there’s construction next time. It was so painful.

The hotel is quite close to the city center, which was a plus. But light sleepers should avoid this room. The soundproofing was terrible, and I woke twice in the middle of the night because of the water heater. The pillows were practically flat, too. I’d picked a room with a bathtub, but even after filling it with all the hot water, the water was only lukewarm. When I tried again later, it was still ice cold, which really spoiled the bath.
