I stayed in the bunk room and felt right at home. Breakfast was delicious, and you can rent boards here. The beach is a five-minute walk, with some restaurants about ten minutes away. Max, the owner, is an OG surfer, so spend some time chatting with him if you can. Really great place.

I booked through a travel site, but never got confirmation or a cancellation message from the hotel, even though the reservation still shows in my account. They didn’t contact me until the day I was due to arrive, by which point I had nowhere to stay and spent the night in a convenience store. I tried calling several times without an answer and emailed too. Weeks later, there was still no reply. Have they gone out of business?

The owner is friendly and easy to chat with, whether you want to talk about surfing or heavy lifting. Breakfast is included, cooked by the owner, and really delicious. There’s also Americano coffee and tea bags downstairs for guests to help themselves to. My room came with a toothbrush case and earplugs, and the bathroom had shampoo and shower gel. The beach is right out front, so you can watch people surf. Upstairs, the second-floor balcony is a nice place to feel the breeze and listen to the waves. A really good stay.
