20000 Leagues Dive Hostel

I know it's not their responsibility to provide a restroom for visitors. But with every other public toilet in the area closed or under maintenance, they wouldn't even consider letting a non-guest use the lobby restroom. They didn't even politely decline the request. Very disappointed.

We've stayed several times and always enjoy it. The owners are friendly, the room is comfortable, and breakfast is delicious. Everything's really nice.

A nice spot to dive and relax.

The homemade bagels with American coffee made a lovely breakfast. You can eat outside with the view or go up to the second-floor balcony for the mountains and ocean. It was a warm, satisfying stay, and I'd happily come back. This intimate B&B is right next to Liandong Elementary School. From the front terrace you get a beautiful view of the Yin-Yang Sea, and tourists come to photograph the long Japanese-style staircase, which is an attraction in itself. Cats are everywhere nearby. Walking the stairs and paths through the community feels like stepping away from busy Jiufen and into the history of the old neighborhood. The owners are a warm, diverse couple with an adorable young daughter. The B&B has a Chihuahua-like dog named Potato and a stray Leopard cat. There's a lot of tenderness in the place, in the way people interact with their surroundings. The big windows make the B&B feel spacious and open. I especially enjoyed the first-floor living room, day or night, with all its books to browse. The guest rooms are cozy and comfortable too, a rare, high-quality place to stay. Instructor Ajie is talented and has a steady manner. Chatting with him, you can feel his passion for life. As a PADI instructor, he leads dives professionally and thoughtfully, explaining things clearly, prioritizing safety, and helping us spot charming aquatic creatures. He also leads rock climbing and river tracing. He knows the local community well and gives detailed introductions to nearby attractions and culture. A-Dan takes care of all the B&B arrangements and is meticulous about contacting guests. She recommends good nearby restaurants, where guests can book ahead or order takeout. She also enjoys flower arranging and sometimes puts out bouquets made from fresh flowers she buys at the market for guests to buy.
