Jasper Young Hotel Banqiao

The location was decent, but the service was terrible. I paid for a late checkout and housekeeping still came in during that time. Then they charged me for an extra hour over 240 seconds spent getting down the elevator. I also tried the massage, which was overpriced and unpleasant. The advertised price wasn't right, and they raised it on the spot for no reason. It felt very unprofessional. Management needs to improve.

The bed, pillows, and blanket were clean, which matters to me because I have allergies, and I woke up feeling refreshed every morning. Jasper Young is also an easy walk from two different stations. The one thing that surprised me was being charged $200 NTD at checkout to replace one room card. I wouldn't have expected that at such a lovely hotel. Many places don't ask for the card back, or have a drop box for it. Aside from that, everything was perfect, and I'd absolutely recommend staying here.

The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and roomy. Still, getting to the nearest metro takes quite a while on foot, since the hotel isn't centrally located. I also wasn't impressed by breakfast, and the room where it was served was so heavily air-conditioned that it felt uncomfortable. The spa's hours and setup were unusual, and there's no gym. With those drawbacks, the price doesn't feel justified.

The cafe on the ground floor was handy, since we didn't have breakfast at the hotel. There were also plenty of nearby places to eat, and public transport was easy to reach. We liked the location for being quieter than crowded areas like Ximending while still connected to the rest of Taipei. Our room had a comfortable bed, a nice city view, and a well-equipped bathroom with a Japanese-style toilet and a good shower. It was spacious, clean, and well maintained, in a hotel with a modern, stylish look. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help. Jasper Young Hotel Banqiao made for a comfortable stay, and I'd consider coming back.
