Lacle Hotel - Luzhou Taipei

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, or any nearby one, because of the heavy construction outside. It started sharply at 9am and went on until around 8pm every day, including both weekend days. I was unwell and had planned to rest in the room for a few days, so this was awful. No one mentioned the work on the booking platform or at check-in. When I raised the problem, the team wasn’t helpful and seemed to avoid responsibility. They refused both options I suggested, changing rooms or a refund.

It was a good fit for what I needed, and the price was reasonable. There’s a great gym nearby and an MRT station close by too. My only complaints were that check-in wasn’t available around the clock for late arrivals, and there wasn’t much space for luggage or at the desk.

The cafe lounge was my favorite spot, quiet and great for getting some work done. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, and the service was really sweet. It’s a cozy, stylish hotel with excellent facilities, including a swimming pool in the gym.

We booked this hotel because prices everywhere else were so high over New Year’s, and it turned out to be one of the more decent places we’ve stayed in Taiwan. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. Breakfast was included and was good quality. The main drawback is that it’s quite far from the usual tourist areas. If you want somewhere affordable and don’t mind a bit more travel to the sights, we’d recommend it :)
