The friendly staff made us feel welcome. The scenery was beautiful, and we could soak in a hot spring right in our room. Even the hallway smelled of fresh wood, and there were lots of artworks to look at in the park. Dinner was surprisingly generous and delicious, enough to eat our fill without feeling guilty. I highly recommend Forest Living for a visit to Shiding, Pingxi, or Shifen.

In about half an hour, you can leave the bustle behind and reach this lush, green retreat. Senhuo Art & Culture Tourism feels like an art gallery set in the forest, with its artistic atmosphere following the mountain paths. The trail itself leads into quiet nature, and the best part is the hot spring overlooking the whole forest. The warm pools have beautiful mountain views, and the design balances indoor and outdoor spaces in a way that feels both refined and simple.

I loved the style here, and the accommodation was great and clean. Breakfast was all-you-can-eat and mostly Chinese-style. There might not be toast if the kids want some, but that didn’t affect the stay overall.

What won me over was the owner and staff, who were kind and welcoming, and the clean, spacious room with a nice view. The guesthouse is quiet, just right for relaxing in the mountains. Its grounds are small but tidy and thoughtfully laid out, with artwork downstairs, a tea area, and a path behind the building for morning exercise. Dinner costs extra but feels like good value, and breakfast is carefully prepared, including fragrant soy milk. The room could use some improvements, especially the shower and laundry storage. I’m also very sensitive to toilet seat temperature at night, particularly in winter in the mountains. That sudden icy seat was quite a shock! 😄 Still, those small shortcomings don’t outweigh the comfort for me. I’d recommend it, especially for a mountain guesthouse.
