Park City Inn & Hostel - Yonghe Taipei

My favorite out of the 4-5 hostels I've tried in taipei. The bathroom design is the best I've seen, and I can get a hostel price with breakfast. It's near the subway station, so getting around by public transport is easy. The only downside is that it's not in the city center, like taipei main or ximending.

I can't recommend this hostel, even with its good location. Over 2 to 3 days, while several school or sports groups were staying there, kids and high-schoolers yelled and ran along the hallways at midnight, banging on classmates' doors, laughing, and shouting. I understand kids will be kids, but staff did nothing to discourage the behavior. Adults in other rooms also talked on their phones at odd hours, like 5 AM and 1 AM. I've never stayed at a hostel with so many inconsiderate people. There was also a moldy smell in my room and mold growing in the showerrooms of the male restrooms. If you're looking for peace and quiet, I strongly suggest you don't come here. They seem to like hosting big groups of 10+ children.

The location is great, right above the MRT station, and the female housekeepers are hardworking and friendly. The public toilet has washlets too. It used to be a good escape for me, but long-stay customers have changed the place a lot. They leave personal belongings on the charging or laptop area and in other shared spaces, and often make a lot of noise. It's really disturbing.

The front desk gentleman handled a booking issue between Agoda and the hotel quickly and with real understanding. His English was good, and he was helpful throughout. The hotel is also in a convenient spot, and communication was excellent.
