The private hot spring tubs in the room were spotless and a lovely break from the December cold. The sharing rooms work well for couples or families, with space for 4-6 people, and the staff were attentive. The milk tea they give you on arrival is great, too. The only drawback is the short uphill drive. I wouldn't recommend walking up, so take a cab from Wulai old street.
We had a good time here, even though it didn't feel like great value for the money. The location is rough, with a 600-meter trek up a mountain, and they don't serve lunch or dinner. There are some snacks for sale, though, and you can use a microwave.
A great place to get away, with a nice atmosphere and good facilities. The owner is really kind, and the staff are warm with guests. Since we brought kids, they deliberately lowered the hot spring temperature. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely night here with our family and pets. It's pet-friendly, with a big outdoor green area where pets can roam. The staff were enthusiastic and attentive: someone came to help as soon as we parked and explained everything clearly, which made us feel secure. They kept reminding guests to take their time, which was thoughtful. The room itself was roomy, with new amenities, a large clean tub, and a big bed. They thoughtfully gave us a comforter each, so no one had to fight their partner for the blanket. The bathroom has a separate shower and toilet area, plus two sinks. The bathing area was spacious and soaking there felt great. The complimentary hand soap, body lotion, shampoo, and shower gel were all good quality, and you could tell the owner pays attention to details. There's also a TV for the evenings. We went on the third day of Lunar New Year and thought it was good value, a nice place to relax on vacation. We didn't spend much time in the common areas, so can't comment on those. P.S. After reading the reviews, I felt a little tempted to stick up for the hotel. The accommodation is right beside a natural area, so some small insects are inevitable. There's no need to be too critical, and the insects don't necessarily come in when guests open and close the door.
Check the price with the hotel on its official Line account before booking, especially if you're unsure how many people are going. On Agoda, a four-person room for four people was NT$5700 before tax. Booking for three first was NT$5670 after tax, but adding a fourth person on arrival cost another NT$1200, making the total NT$6870. So if you're uncertain about the headcount, it's worth booking for more people at first. The room was quite good overall, and the double bed was big enough that you wouldn't kick the person beside you. There were a few small insects flying around, though. Drinks like tea, coffee, and juice are offered at check-in and in the morning. Japanese breakfast costs an extra NT$400 per person, a bit pricey, but the food tastes okay.
