Xi Yin Zhi Su B&B

The owner welcomed me at 5:30pm and showed me to my room. It was spacious, with a clean bathroom and living area, and had a great view of Pingxi town and the river. The place is right by the river, with eateries nearby, Pingxi Old Street a two-minute walk away, and Pingxi Station about three minutes away. I had a lovely stay. Thanks for the warm hospitality.

After half a day getting soaked in cold, relentless rain at the Shifen waterfalls and on the suspension bridges, it was a relief to find a spacious, clean room with a heater that actually put out heat. Our previous two rooms in Xiemen and Jiufen hadn't, so getting warm and toasty again felt great. The room looked new, maybe only three months old, with simple, modern amenities. The owner lives elsewhere, but waited at the hotel for us. There was a note on the front door explaining how to reach him, so I contacted him on Line app. A few minutes later he came through a back doorway to check us in. He'd opened two windows to air out the room. He quickly explained the key card and disposable towels, then left us to our stay. From the room, we could see the Keelung River running through town, with shops in front, including a traditional breakfast place and a 24-hour 7/11. Sitting on the very firm bed to eat breakfast while watching locals start their morning was interesting.

Self-service, clean, and cozy 😍

I slept so well, and the bed was absolutely fantastic. The housekeeping staff were lovely, and the owner made me feel welcome too. They even texted me instructions for booking through the self-service system. Highly recommend! 😍
