We eventually checked in smoothly, even after having to postpone our January 2024 reservation twice for different reasons. The owner was understanding and said the room would still be held for the confirmed date. We stayed just one night, and both the room and the owner's welcome felt lovely. At 15:00 on check-in day, the owner sends a photo with the room number and both door passwords. They replied quickly to questions during service hours. You can book through online sites or add the owner on LINE, which is recommended. The room was bright, clean, simply but nicely decorated, and had the basics, though no toothbrush or toothpaste. There were lots of free snacks in the lobby, and the bed was very comfortable. It’s close to the night market, and parking was easy with plenty of roadside spaces. The place was spacious, comfortable, tidy, and well maintained. Service was excellent, and for the price it was great value. I'd consider booking again when I'm in Puli. Date: 2025/12/28, Time: 15:00. The guesthouse is in an alley beside Starbucks on Section 3, Zhongshan Road, Puli Township, Nantou County. Environment quality: clean and tidy. Return visit rate: 90%.

The hot water wasn't working when I went to shower after checking in on the evening of November 1st. I let the owner know, and they arrived in about 10 minutes. It took roughly an hour and a half to sort out. The owner and his wife were very helpful and proactive, and gave me a small gift to apologize. I slept really well. Apart from that little issue, the stay was excellent, especially with Qingbao You Tiao so close by!

There are plenty of nearby places to eat and get drinks, and the location was great. The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean. They provided a water dispenser, basic tea bags and coffee, and biscuits. The soundproofing wasn't the best, but it didn't get in the way of my stay. The price was reasonable and good value.

There were a few little things that might bother some people, but I was very satisfied and would definitely stay again. The first-floor rooms can get noisy from motorcycles or people talking as they pass, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to sound. Wi-Fi was slower than my phone connection. It's easy to find, clean, and well equipped, with a hair dryer, towels, shampoo and body wash. Instant noodles and disposable toiletries are sold in the lobby. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

The rooms and shared spaces feel cozy and comfortable, with stylish decor. There’s parking outside, and Puli Winery is close enough to walk to. Restaurants are plentiful around the roundabout, and Starbucks is about a five-second walk away if you want coffee. A great spot for a short break and a stroll. I highly recommend Shan You Xiang Zhai for an overnight stay in Puli, Nantou, especially for the value.
