Wen Sha Bao Homestay

I decided on a whim to visit Puli on Saturday and booked the place for NT$1600 per night. The woman at the door was very polite, and the room was reasonably clean. The bathroom fixtures also looked like they'd been cleaned. My main issue was a strong, stale cigarette smell that lingered. By the next morning my eyes were swollen and irritated, which I put down to dust mites. That's just what happened to me, for your reference.

The room felt damp, and the ceiling covering was peeling. There were two holes in the curtains, and some peeling on the cabinets, though that didn't affect their use. The sink had several large yellow stains, and the toilet seat wobbled. There was no hot water for my shower until a friend in the next building asked the front desk to turn it on. After that, the temperature kept swinging between hot and cold, which was unpleasant. The next door guests also complained about having no hot water, and the soundproofing was poor enough that I could hear them. I hope the owner renovates, because the place felt very uncomfortable.

A cockroach perched on my shower gel while I was trying to shower. The room smelled of cockroaches, too, and it was really old. That was the most terrifying moment. The owner really needs to look into this. I called the manager to ask what to do, but he ignored me.

This was awful. They said they'd clean the room in the morning, but when I got back in the evening it still hadn't been done. There was even a huge frog on the table. I called the manager, who said, "I don't understand what you are talking about," then hung up. It's so over the top. I'm really frustrated.
