Dragonmanor Resort

The lobby is packed with carved wood and looks like a wood carving shop. There’s only one person at reception. When our bus arrived, she came out to help guests cross the highway because the parking is on the other side. Our room was on the second floor, and with no elevator, we had to carry our big bags up the steep stairs ourselves, so pack light. The room was spacious. Don’t be surprised if there are no bath towels, they use disposable paper towels. There’s a restaurant at the hotel, and the food was average.

The air conditioning didn’t work, and the room photos make it look bigger and more spacious than it is. Safety could be better too. Dogs barking at night kept us awake, and traffic noise came right into the room. We had to open the windows to get some ventilation.

The room’s toilet is in the bathtub area, so you end up walking on a wet floor in paper slippers that get soaked. The rooms are stuffy and don’t have a good view, though the design is unique and the garden scenery is beautiful. There are lots of chairs in the corridor and in the level 3 garden, but mosquitoes make it hard to sit there. Flies are also everywhere when you eat, and mosquito control is poor. There’s no lift, so luggage has to be carried up the stairs to level 2 or 3. Food was average.

We stayed one night and had a nice view, barbecue pork dinner, and entertainment by Alishan Prince. It was a lovely night.
