The morning and evening views from the peaceful sitting area were lovely, with rice paddies in the background. The whole place is beautiful and clean. The hostesses were friendly, and Sunday the dog is adorable. The couple have been hosting for over 10 years. Breakfast included fresh indigenous vegetables, steamed egg, warm soy milk or tea, and fruit. I'd recommend staying here! 🏡 🐕 🌾

Our hosts Eric and Vivian looked after us so well. We arrived early and they already had a room ready. With no plans for the day, Eric invited us along on his grocery trip to the local market and a honeydew farm, where he was picking fruit for his family. We went in his car, got to taste Yilan hospitality, and he had lots of suggestions for places to visit and things to eat. Since I'd done no research before coming, I really appreciated that. When we mentioned going up the mountain, he arranged a driver for Taipingshan the next day. The food was incredible. Vivian made fermented bean curd to have with porridge and lots of tasty stir-fried local vegetables, and Eric baked bread. Their dog was quite the actor, giving us those big, pitiful eyes for breakfast scraps, which we didn't give her for her own good! The place is next to rice fields and vegetable farms, with flowers in bloom and butterflies everywhere. The accommodation felt like a storybook, cozy, quaint and super clean. I'd happily return to Sunday home when I'm in Yilan again.

The small downside was the garden path. There wasn't a flat route for rolling luggage, so we had to carry it to the car. The room doors were light and I kept slamming them by accident. A smart toilet would have been nice too. The room and bathroom were bright, tidy and clean, except for a tiny bit of mould on the toilet glass door seal, which I could accept. The minsu boss was welcoming and helpful with itinerary advice and arrangements. He checked on us and made sure we got to the Minsu safely. Breakfast was homemade, fresh and one of the best meals I've had across my hotel and misu stays. After two mornings of it, I regretted not trying the 6pm dinner for TWD 680 per person, even though that initially sounded expensive. Sunday home really stands out for food, service and cleanliness. Next time I'm in Taiwan, I'll plan another Yilan trip and stay here.

The room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed, with quality and thoughtfulness everywhere. The hosts were friendly and the cooking was excellent. Don't miss dinner, and the afternoon tea is lovely too. Best stay I've had in years. I'd love to return with family and friends.
