Working here in exchange for accommodation was a really unique experience. I met all kinds of people, from enthusiastic northerners and Chinese travelers to couples and families. A lot happened, and I caused the owners quite a bit of trouble, sorry about that. They’re a really nice couple, and the guesthouse is excellent and very clean. I’d come back if I got the chance.

It was mostly a DIY stay, since I barely interacted with the operators, but whenever I had a question, I could call or message them on LINE and they replied right away. There’s a box of comfortable indoor slippers downstairs, plus free soccer and dart machines. You can also leave postcards in the mailbox at the entrance, just remember to tell the operators so they can take them to the actual mailbox. A very unique accommodation experience.

Just a 5-minute walk from Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital, so the location is handy. The place is clean, tidy, and safe, with complete public facilities.

A comfortable place to sleep, with a clean environment and pleasant decor. The price is reasonable, and I’d highly recommend it if that’s what you need.

The common areas are nice and work well for group conversations. The owner handled everything quickly, even though I didn’t meet her. It’s a great backpacker hostel and definitely worth a visit.
