Sun On the Cloud B&B

I really liked the atmosphere and setting, and the karaoke area was so comfortable. The shared spaces were laid out conveniently, the rooms were very clean, and the staff were so friendly they made me feel like family. ❤️

I really love this homestay. This was my second time at Cloud Sunshine Homestay ❤️, both visits to relax with church. The surroundings are very comfortable, all the facilities are there, and the housekeeper was friendly and gave excellent service. 🥰

The rooms in the outer glass treehouse area are all the same size, with a soft double bed and a firm daybed. I liked having the choice, especially for elderly guests or anyone with back problems. There are only two small hooks on the wall, though, so hanging winter clothes is a bit awkward. The whole row is poorly soundproofed: you can hear other buildings, laundry in the morning, and the host going through the wooden fence early, which can easily wake you. Bring earplugs if you want a full night's sleep. We chose this place for a relaxing getaway, even though it’s 8-10 kilometers from the city center. Parking in the yard was easy, and the host supplied plenty of food, drinks, and other things, which made us feel very welcome. The treehouse had great entertainment for the whole family, especially the mahjong table and karaoke machine. A few small things could be better: the living room chairs have no headrests, and the only frying pan doesn’t work with the induction cooker, so we had to use the large saucepan to fry eggs. At the entrance, you have to keep taking your shoes off and putting them back on. That could be annoying with winter boots, and rain makes it worse because the small shelter doesn’t keep the shoes dry. I’d bring slippers. The small black mosquitoes in Hualien also caught me off guard, and I ended up with nearly a hundred bites. Others have already praised the photos, so I won’t add any.

The guesthouse is right by National Dong Hwa University and has plenty of space, including a separate lounge and restaurant. It had the number of rooms we needed, and the breakfast was generous, healthy, and tasty. Service was excellent too. I’d definitely come back!
