The location is good, but we’ll choose another nearby hotel next time. We only stayed two nights, and the room was bare, though it had the essentials. It felt more like a two-star hotel, and honestly we overpaid through the credit card travel portal. There’s no front desk service at night, which made it hard to get help. The lobby entrance by the elevator is supposed to need a key card, but anyone could open it. The elevator also worked without a key card, so anyone could access the building. On our second night, someone banged on our door late while we were watching TV. We thought maybe we’d been noisy, since sound carries poorly between rooms, but our TV was already very low. We asked what they wanted and got no answer. It happened two more times that night. There was no peephole, so we couldn’t see who was outside and were too scared to open the door. Our friends had warned us Taichung isn’t the safest at night. With no night desk, there was nobody we could call. I told the staff the next morning, and all they could do was apologize and say they’d investigate.

We had a clean, comfortable twin room with windows, and the location was good. We heard a little traffic, but it didn’t bother us. For a short stay, I’d recommend the place. We arrived shortly before check-in and were offered early access if we left a five-star Google review. I was skeptical, but the staff member reassured me it was my choice and that I could edit the review later. We’d already noticed lots of reviews that seemed questionable, so we’d been hesitant to book. I’m giving my honest impression here. I deducted a star because we had to leave a five-star review for early check-in, and because they wouldn’t store our luggage at reception after checkout, even for a fee. I’ve never had a hotel refuse that before.

In room #503, the beds were fairly comfortable, the bathroom had a shower cabin, and the basic items were provided: towels, toilet paper, shampoo, bottled water, and AC. Check-in was easy, the location was good, and the daytime desk staff were very friendly when we checked out. For a room supposed to be 18 sqm, it felt surprisingly small, though apparently the bathroom is included in that measurement. There was no bedside table or lamp, and space for bags was limited. Traffic and neighbors were easy to hear because of poor sound insulation. The emergency lights stayed on, both the red light and especially the bright regular bulb, so we slept in a rather bright room. That wasn’t acceptable, and there was no service desk at night. For what you get, half the price would feel more reasonable.

There’s a bus stop right outside, so getting around is convenient. My room had a window, though there wasn’t much to see. It wasn’t especially small or spacious, but with just my small carry-on suitcase, it was fine.

De Lin at reception is amazing!
