The room was so quiet and peaceful from afternoon through early morning, and the person at reception was very friendly when I arrived. It was spacious, spotless, and well equipped, with no damp or moldy smell, something I'm sensitive to. The modern bathroom was clean, the AC worked perfectly, and the blackout curtains helped me sleep. I appreciated the desk, kettle and tea, free water, fridge, hair dryer, lots of storage, and a little balcony for drying clothes. I could unpack completely without feeling cramped. There was construction noise in the morning. The bigger problem, though, was all the stressful communication before arrival. I got several emails that felt pushy, even suggesting I cancel, and the check-in window was very strict and only around two hours long. It nearly made me cancel, which would've been a shame given how nice the stay itself was. The hotel is excellent, but the pre-arrival messages need to be less pressuring and more flexible.

The staff were really patient and accommodating, and even helped with extra requests like towels and my room. They also suggested lots of local places to eat. It's cheap and centrally located, and I had a really good stay. Rooms can book up, especially on weekends, so you might be lucky to get one. I'd recommend it for a stay in Taichung.

I paid over twice as much for windowless hotel rooms in Taipei, so this place was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean and comfortable, with good AC and natural light. It's near a great night market, though a bit far from the local MRT. The shower is part of the small bathroom rather than enclosed, which might surprise visitors from outside Taiwan, but it wasn't a problem for me. You get your own room, so it feels more like a hotel than a hostel.

No room cleaning and no staffed reception, but everything in the room worked as it should. It was very clean and tidy, with plenty of outlets, and the staff were helpful. A good price for the basic services.

The main issue for me was that the laundry detergent kept running out. The room was fairly quiet, but the pillow was too soft and flat, and the hot water can get extremely hot, so watch out. There was no mosquito, though that probably depends on the season. The room had enough space for one large suitcase and one small one for two people, and overall it was good.
