Dragon Vally Hotel and Paradise

The hot spring was the best part of our one-night stay. It was beautiful and had what you'd expect, though I'm glad it wasn't busy because the space is small and could get crowded. The lobby made a grand first impression, but the rest of the stay felt pretty average. Some facilities are old and outdated, though at this price I can't complain, especially if the hot spring is your main reason for coming. We couldn't get the Wi-Fi on any floor to work. Staff blamed weak mountain signals, but public Wi-Fi connected fine, so it seemed like their service was broken. It was inconvenient when we needed internet for a few minutes, even on vacation.

The hot spring had a view over the mountainside, and the men's baths were set at three temperatures, 42c, 38c, and 20c. The area was clean, with plenty of cubbies but only a few lockers; they gave us a towel and a token for the massage chair. Breakfast was well stocked, mostly Taiwanese-style food. I had a clean room with two comfortable double beds, plus a sitting area with two comfy chairs and a table. I enjoyed staying here and would come back.

The big problem was the hot spring. It stayed closed indefinitely throughout the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and no one could say when it would reopen. I ended up paying extra to use a public hot spring. I would have given the hotel five stars, including for the facilities, if the hot spring area had been open. The hotel itself was neat, and overnight guests get free breakfast, but the soundproofing was poor. You could hear footsteps right outside the door, and aunties talking and laughing loudly in the sixth-floor lobby carried into my room on the seventh floor.

Good location and price, with helpful staff. The place is nice, though the rooms seem a little old.
