Hotel Arbol Taichung

The room gets nice natural light, and the new hostel is clean, simply designed, and comfortable. Self-check-in and check-out were easy. There’s coffee, tea, water, and snacks in the self-service area, plus a great view from the 7th-floor balcony through its floor-to-ceiling windows. The space outside the bed in the hallway was smaller than I expected, though, and the soundproofing isn’t good. I could clearly hear children laughing next door. Luckily, the other guests on the floor were well-behaved.

That 7th-floor common area is especially handy for a meal or a short meeting, and the rooms have roomy balconies with good light and airflow. Inside, the apartment is clean, bright, comfortable, and laid out well, with all the amenities you need. Staff are available around the clock and respond quickly, which feels reassuring. There’s freshly ground coffee, sparkling water, hot and cold water, and even clean, nicely presented ice cubes. Traditional snacks and light meals add a nice touch. I plan to come back three times. It’s the kind of place you want to return to. ✨

The new guesthouse is clean and comfortable. There’s also a common area on the seventh floor for guests to use.

The main drawback is the noise. Even though the building is new, I could hear the light switch in the next room and running water in the bathroom at night. The soundproofing feels like that of an old apartment building, so if you’re sensitive to noise, keep that in mind. If you fall asleep as soon as you get back, it may be easier to overlook. There’s a lot to like otherwise: the room and new equipment were very clean, the elevator was fast, and the Dyson hairdryer was impeccable. On the 7th floor there were drinks, a coffee machine with fresh milk, black tea, small mochi snacks, and a Louisa breakfast. Very generous.
