Hotel East Taichung

The staff made our three-night stay feel especially welcoming. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and Mr. Rich gave us lots of useful tips. Breakfast and the late-night snacks were both surprisingly good, and much appreciated after long days out. Our room was very clean, the shower pressure was strong, and the bed and pillows were so comfortable that sleeping well was easy. We'd gladly stay again and recommend the hotel.

I enjoyed my two nights and would come back. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean and a decent size. It faced the main street and could be a little noisy, though it didn't bother me, and ear plugs were provided. I was pleasantly surprised by how much choice there was at breakfast and for the night snack, more than I'd expected.

The toilet in my deluxe twin was very large compared with the room, and the corridors felt narrow and dark. The room's soundproofing was poor enough that I could hear the TV next door. Some cushions were dusty, so I hope they remove them. The towels were cute, but I wish they changed them daily. It's quite a walk from the train station with big luggage because the ground is uneven. Breakfast was average, though it was a nice gesture. For the price, the hotel was okay.

We were cycle touring, and it was great to be able to store our bikes safely by reception. The staff were very helpful, and the room was nicely presented. Free ice cream and snacks were available from 2pm, with night snacks from 8pm. There was a good breakfast selection, but the self-service area is too small for a hotel this size. It got crowded, with people waiting and bumping into each other, though there was plenty of seating. I'd stay again.
