The room was spacious and nicely renovated, with a good bathroom and windows that open. The facilities were good, the staff were friendly and attentive, and having parking was handy. We did notice mold in the bathroom, though, and it should be possible to clean that properly. The air conditioning was the serious problem. The hotel shut it off and only allowed heating, so the room climbed to 25-26ºC at night, even with the window open while it was about 12ºC outside. We had a one-year-old with us, and the night was incredibly uncomfortable. We took off the duvet, undressed, and the staff lent us fans at 4am, but the room was still 25º. At checkout, staff said it was because it was too cold outside for other guests. Those guests could switch off the air conditioning, set it to fan, or use the duvet to stay warm. You can dress for cold, but there’s little you can do about heat without air conditioning. Management needs a better option that keeps everyone comfortable.

We slept well here, and our family, which is highly allergic to dust and mold, could breathe easily because the hotel was so clean. The rooms were roomy, good quality, and comfortable, with a great night view of the city. Staff were polite, friendly, and quick to help. There were many good restaurants nearby, and the hotel arranged taxis for us, which made getting around easy. Breakfast came with the room and was an outstanding buffet, with lots of western and Taiwanese dishes and great value. The gym was very good for working out, better than many hotel gyms we’ve used. It rained hard every day, so the covered driveway was especially useful for getting in and out of cars without getting wet. The hotel also lent us several umbrellas, which was thoughtful and helpful.

Hotel Howard is in a peaceful area but still close to the main attractions. Breakfasts were delicious, with plenty of fresh choices and fantastic coffee. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and spotless, and the bed was so comfortable I slept perfectly. From arrival, the staff welcomed me warmly. They were friendly, always smiling, and ready to help. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Howard and can’t wait to return.

There are lots of restaurants nearby, and the location is very convenient. The room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, clean, and well cared for. It’s an older hotel, but it has clearly been renovated in a modern, refined style. My family and I liked it, and the room even had a sofa area. The bed was comfortable too.
