I wouldn’t come back or recommend this hotel. I gave it a try because of the high ratings, but it disappointed me. For the same price, I stayed in better places in Taichung that week. The bed felt uncomfortable and cheap. They didn’t provide slippers, which I found unusual for Taiwan. Breakfast was also underwhelming: you choose a main dish, but it isn’t a buffet or high quality café meal, and the drinks were poor, with no milk available.

For a budget hotel, the price, location, cleanliness, breakfast, and staff hospitality made this one of the best places we’ve stayed anywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we could tell them when we wanted housekeeping. There’s a coin-operated washer with a built-in cold air dryer, and water dispensers on each floor. Our room was clean and nicely spacious, with a kettle, fridge, closets, strong water pressure and hot water, good AC, big windows with darkening curtains, and a small couch. It was on a quiet street, so noise wasn’t an issue. The bed was quite firm, as others have said, but we liked it. It felt good on our backs and hips after long days walking and hiking. Breakfast is a simple Taiwanese à la carte meal delivered each day from a local restaurant. There are also different coffee and tea options in the lovely first floor lounge/cafe. The WiFi was pretty bad, though that seems common in Taiwan hotels. I’d suggest renting a WiFi puck from a local telco for your stay.

The neighborhood was quiet and good for resting, and the room was spacious enough. The TV didn’t have any channels, but the place was decent overall, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was more than we expected.

[Tourist] The location was good, though there wasn’t much to do around there after 5pm. I think I’d stay here again if I return to Taichung. Service was good, and while staff may struggle with non-Chinese speakers, they tried hard, which I appreciated. The room was bigger than I expected, with space to open luggage and a handy cupboard. It smelled nice when I entered, and the soaps were good. Cleanliness and maintenance were above average. Breakfast was included, probably from a cafe down the road. It was alright, packed in a little doggy bag that felt a bit like a parent handing you lunch, which was cute.
