The room was fairly clean and the sofa was comfortable. The location is great, though somewhat secluded, and there’s no elevator, so be ready to carry heavy luggage. On weekend evenings, a nearby street performance runs until around 10 p.m. The soundproofing wasn’t great. The bathroom was small, and getting shower gel out of the bottle took a lot of squeezing. The towels were disposable and not very good. There’s a large refrigerator, but no drinking water. It was acceptable overall.

For a cheap double room, it was pretty good if you mainly need somewhere to sleep. There are single rooms too, so you don’t have to share with strangers. The room was quite large, though the basic decor and atmosphere aren’t the main draw. It had a TV, but smelled a little stuffy when I walked in, and the soundproofing was weak. Finding the place is the main challenge. It’s upstairs in a building beside the Yimin shopping district, with no sign, so first-time visitors will probably get lost. Ask for their Line contact in advance. There’s a designated car park you can ask about on Line, while motorcycles can use street parking. The staff were pretty good, at least they answered my Line call at midnight xD.

The bathroom was the biggest drawback. It’s so cramped there’s no separate shower and toilet, and there’s nowhere to put a change of clothes without them getting wet. There’s also a nearby power outlet that would be better with a cover. No bottled water was provided either, maybe the owner assumes all the nearby bubble tea shops will do. I stayed here on a business trip on March 14, 2019, with a colleague who chose it for its position in the Yimin Yizhong commercial district, close to Yizhong Night Market. Parking is available, but it costs extra. The place feels more like a row of rental suites than a hotel. My room was spacious and had air conditioning, an LCD TV, a wardrobe, and a refrigerator. I’m more used to formal hotels and hostels, so it felt unusual, but it’s a bargain for the price. It suits young people who like night markets. Those who dislike them or are older may not find it as suitable, since there are quite a few stairs.

The four-person room was roomy, and the price was reasonable. The owner was very friendly, and the location was convenient. I checked in on December 28, 2018. The one drawback was the hot water: it wasn’t warm enough and sometimes turned ice-cold.

Yizhong Street is very convenient, but the poor soundproofing was a real problem. Guests next door were loud late at night, and complaints didn’t get addressed. The room’s amenities were noisy too, which disrupted my sleep.
