Meteor Garden B&B

The location was fantastic. At night we had a spectacular view of Taichung, and could see planets and stars. We spotted Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and Mercury, and tried to find Uranus during the weekend when several planets were supposed to be lined up or something. I stayed three nights at Meteor Garden Happy Living Park (Meteor Garden Happy Living Park). There are two kinds of rooms: one is more like a hotel room with two small queen beds, a shower/bath, TV, and toilet. The other has four beds, with two tucked under the other two and rolled out. The hotel-style room was okay and fairly clean overall. The other one felt like a very basic youth hostel and wasn't as clean. One room we used had holes in the walls, as if someone had kicked them, and they had never been fixed. We ate in the dining hall at the bottom of the hill and the one at the top. The food in both was pretty basic. Breakfast was mostly congee with shredded pork and some vegetables; lunch and dinner were inexpensive meals with very little meat. It was okay, but not something I'd normally eat. There's a campsite on the farm that seems like it would be a great place to camp, with such a lovely view. The grass is mowed and looked after, and there are bathrooms and showers right there. I think I'd like to camp next time. The one thing I might not like is that people who aren't camping can walk into your campground area, since that's where the best view is.
