Our room for two was great, with twin beds and a large window. The location was okay, close enough to Taichung station for a short bus ride. We had a good stay, but unfortunately found a cockroach in the bathroom on our first day. Staff said it was because they'd fogged the rooms the day before.

You can hear everything from all around: water moving through the pipes, people walking upstairs, and people shouting in their rooms. The bathroom is small, the rooms are outdated, and shower water splashes everywhere, leaving the floor soaked. This was one of my worst hotel stays, and I wouldn't recommend it even on a low budget.

The front desk service would make this a five for me, but the bathroom smelled far too bad for me to tolerate. An employee said the odor came from an old pipe, and the only response was to use an ineffective air freshener and expect me to accept it. The room was old and not very clean either. If you have more budget or another option, go there.
