Mu Pin Ju Hostel

The double capsule was comfortable, and I slept well. The shared toilet was basic but clean, and the cleaning staff were friendly and polite. The front desk staff were unresponsive and unhelpful, which was disappointing. The elevator is also small and slow, and with the hostel on the 12th floor, getting around can be inconvenient. It’s decent if all you need is a clean, comfortable place to rest, though the service could be better.

I liked my time here and would warmly recommend this clean, safe hostel. The staff were friendly, and the space-themed bed capsules are pretty cool, with different light colors and brightness settings. You can still hear your neighbors inside, though, so they aren’t fully soundproof. There’s a small kitchen with a coffee machine for drinks like Americano, latte, and hot chocolate, plus tea, a microwave, and a dispenser for hot, warm, and cold water. Guests can use the fridge too. The bathroom has a washer and dryer beside the showers and toilets. Remember to bring your own towel.

It’s clean, and there’s a place to charge your phone and a small table in the room. A decent choice if you’re traveling alone and just need a bed for the night in Taichung. The night I stayed, it wasn’t full, but it still wasn’t quiet.

Ms Wu was friendly and really helpful, getting our check-in sorted smoothly even though it was very late at night. I hope the hostel will provide towels and make the air conditioning adjustable. I didn’t realize it couldn’t be changed, and spent ten minutes trying to work out the temperature. It was actually warm inside, around 24 degrees, and I had a hard time falling asleep. I wanted to open the door to get some airflow.
