The room was roomy and comfortable, with two bathrooms. The owner was also really friendly and helpful. He even booked the Old Mountain little train for us, since the online booking process seemed unfriendly to foreigners. The resort sits up a hill, which is the main drawback. In Sanyi you mostly need a taxi or rental car anyway, so it wasn’t too much trouble. I walked to town in about 12 minutes, so it’s walkable too.

The breakfast was a bad experience too. Since the other guests were a group, our breakfast time got cut short. We only started eating at 9:10 AM, then at 9:30 AM the cleaning lady yelled at us and pressured us to finish and leave. The room smelled strongly of secondhand smoke, and turning on the air conditioning made it even worse. We had a child with us, and there were no other rooms available that day. It was really upsetting. If you can, avoid staying here.

Breakfast was delicious, and the owners were very friendly. The room had a nice high ceiling, parking was convenient, and the cats were adorable. There’s a convenience store nearby. The bathroom ventilation was weak, though. Even after leaving the fan on all night, it was still damp.
