Spring Hotel

The room had a smoke smell, and the cleaning wasn’t thorough. The bathtub and refrigerator were visibly dirty, so think twice before booking. The only thing going for the place is that it’s close to the night market and hospital. When I booked, they said I could call to ask about early check-in. But when I called that day, they were very rude and said early check-in wasn’t possible for online bookings. Breakfast was included in the rate, but it still hadn’t arrived by 7:40 AM. They said the rooms were too full and breakfast was being made one serving at a time, so it would take at least another half hour. I had other plans and had to leave in a huff.

The front desk staff get three stars from me, but there wasn’t much else that would make me want to return. The room smelled musty and was dusty. I was in Taichung for classes and booked two weekday nights through a booking site for NT$3622. It came with a free upgrade to a superior double room. The photos showed what looked like a spacious room with a separate living and sleeping area, but what I got was one area with a double bed, two small sofas, a coffee table, and a water dispenser and refrigerator area. The room itself wasn’t big, though the bathroom was large. It felt like a fake upgrade, and I wondered why such different room types were shown in a way that could mislead people. The site does say photos don’t reflect reality, so I won’t say more.

Water came pouring from right above the bed in the middle of the night and woke me up. The room had a severe leak, and it was absolutely terrible, probably the worst experience I’ve ever had. The front desk didn’t handle it well. Why can’t I give zero stars? 🌟

Against the white sheets, two marks really stood out: one coffee-colored stain and one red mark that looked like blood. How could the staff have the nerve to change the sheets and leave those stains there?
