Stay Hotel - Taichung Zhongqing

Breakfast had lots of choices, and the restaurant was super nice. The shampoo and bath liquid smelled good, too. It was very clean and comfortable, and Muslim-friendly, with a prayer mat and qibla direction provided. Highly recommended.

The rooms were clean and well kept, and the staff at the entrance were friendly. Check-in was easy, which deserved a star in my view. But drunk college kids made a racket at 2-3 am, and the hotel staff did nothing about it that night or the next morning. I’m really disappointed with how they dealt with it. What could have been an easy five-star stay dropped to two for me.

There’s plenty of food nearby, including early breakfast spots at the traditional market across the street, though that food isn’t halal. Family Mart and 7-11 are close, and Yizhong Street Night Market is about a 15 minute walk away. Housekeeping was clean and the front desk staff were friendly, with generally few issues during my stay. I wasn’t keen on the soft pillows, and the hotel could improve both the breakfast quality and variety. There’s just one washer and one dryer, so you have to get lucky and find them both free.

The room was quiet, nicely decorated, and comfortable, though not especially large. The design is minimal but makes an impact, and the amenities served me well. I loved the food and found the staff helpful, including the friendly restaurant team. Some rooms are very Muslim-friendly, with a sejadah, prayer time, and a kiblat arrow provided. It’s in a key spot in the heart of the city, and I hope to stay here again soon.
