Talmud Business Hotel - Wu Quan

The rooms are on the small side, and the open atrium design can let extra noise through. Still, the price was good, and the place feels new, modern, and clean. What stood out most was the staff. They were genuinely friendly, helpful, and polished, and seemed proud of their work. The manager is clearly doing a great job. I stayed a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic experience for the price.

The room looked recently refurbished and was clean and tidy, and the shower had great pressure. The internet, though, kept dropping out. When I mentioned it to the receptionist, the response felt cold and unhelpful. A warmer manner would help for someone working at the front desk. Maybe they were overworked, since I only saw one staff member in the whole hotel.

The room was clean and generally nice, and the service was good. I especially liked the lobby, where you can have free coffee and sit down to relax or get some work done. The main problem was the noise. We could hear sounds from several rooms away, and during the long weekend our neighbors kept partying until 4 am. There was also a cigarette butt on the floor, and the room still smelled of smoke.

The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, with an exhaust fan, hairdryer, slippers, shampoo, body soap, mugs, and coffee. The split AC was a bit weak. The lobby had free tea and coffee from the Alishan and Sun Moon area, and the Wi-Fi measured 17 Mbps there and 6 Mbps in our room on an Ookla test. The NIGHT DESK woman was so welcoming and kind. English isn’t her first language, but she made the effort. The morning desk woman was the opposite. She watched me come downstairs without saying good morning, then ignored us when we checked out at the kiosk, with no thanks or goodbye, just a strange look. That was shocking to us. I didn’t like that there was no peephole in the door for security, and we were given only one key for the two of us. Even so, I’d recommend the hotel for its cleanliness, friendly NIGHT front desk, and inviting lobby where you can sit with coffee or tea.
