The room was large, like a studio apartment, and clean, if a bit dated. The bed was comfortable, and having a washing machine was a nice plus. It's a great spot near the night market. This is a mingsu/AirBnB style hostel with no check-in required. The lobby looks a little old and doesn't match the pictures, so set your expectations accordingly. There's no lift, and the staircase is narrow, so be ready to carry heavy luggage up. For the price, I'd recommend it as a decent, average hostel.

We arrived a little after 9:30 AM hoping to leave our luggage, but the door was locked. There was nobody at the front, no receptionist desk, no doorbell, and no response when we knocked several times. We also tried calling the owner without getting an answer, and there were no self check-in instructions. We felt completely helpless and decided to leave and find somewhere else nearby. Since we booked through Agoda and couldn't get a refund through the platform, all we could do was leave a review for anyone who might need to drop bags before check-in. You could end up in the same spot, losing the cost of your stay while finding another hotel or carrying your luggage around until the afternoon.

Getting here takes a bit of time, but I honestly didn't regret staying. It's convenient for shopping and the famous night market. The room was clean and much bigger than most of the rooms we've booked in Taiwan, and the hospitality was good even though it's an independently run hostel.

The location is the best part. My towel had holes and stains, though, and there was no room service. I think they should offer some discount.
