84 In Tainan

This is still my favorite B&B in Tainan, even after visiting the city many times. It's a renovated old house that keeps its retro style, and the rooms and bathroom facilities are clean and comfortable. The owner is really friendly and leaves plenty of snacks and drinks. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Tainan.

It was hot when I arrived in Tainan early that day. The owner kindly suggested I come by early, and the welcome felt warmer than at a hotel. A young man served me a Lian De Tang pancake while I was still sweating. I had a double room on the third floor. The air conditioning was already cool when I walked in, and the spacious balcony looked beautiful in the sunset. The old objects around the house and the mostly unchanged layout gave the place a lovely atmosphere. The room had thoughtful extras like makeup remover, sanitary napkins, and wet wipes, plus drinks and biscuits in the fridge. The only small disappointment was that the TV wasn't an internet TV. Downstairs in the shared area, there were biscuits, fruit, drinks, homemade cold brew tea, bowls, and chopsticks. The guesthouse sits in a quiet alley but is only a short walk from Tainan's busy area. It felt warm and cozy throughout, and I highly recommend it. A stay in an old-style guesthouse feels like part of a Tainan trip. I can't remember how I found this one, maybe it was fate!

Thoughtful little details really set this place apart. They welcomed me with a neighborhood favorite, Lian De Tang pancakes, and introduced the house. The air conditioning was already on when I entered my room, which is a level of care I've only experienced in five-star hotels or Japan. There was Costco toilet paper and sanitary napkins, and I could help myself to the fridge drinks. They also had homemade cold brew tea, plenty of snacks and fruit, and a friendly owner who chatted and suggested nearby restaurants. I stayed in a double room on the third floor, with a large private balcony. It was lovely to have a beer in the evening, look at the sky, and talk. The whole building is a carefully renovated old house, with the old items preserved to create a great atmosphere. It's also in a great location. This is the most comfortable B&B I've stayed at in Tainan so far, highly recommended!

This feels more like a private guesthouse than a hotel, converted from an ordinary city home like a tenement. The classic furnishings are tasteful, and it was convenient to have soft drinks, fruit, and snacks provided free of charge.
