Anping OAOA Homestay

People were chatting behind me early in the morning, and it was really noisy 😐. There’s no privacy at all, and the soundproofing is terrible. I was in the yellow room on the first floor. It was okay otherwise, but millipedes kept coming out, and a few even fell on my face. Awful 🤢🤢, I couldn’t sleep. Still, the place wasn’t bad overall 🧐.

There seem to be only five rooms here, two downstairs and three upstairs. The wooden wine-cellar door at the entrance gives the guesthouse a distinctive look.

The room was comfortable and the bed was great. You can hear doors opening and closing near Anping Fort, but once you’re in the room, voices don’t come through, so the soundproofing seemed okay to me. I didn’t meet the owner face to face, but he patiently answered all my questions. I’d choose this place again if I get to visit Tainan.

The owner got back to our messages very quickly and was kind enough to arrange two rooms next to each other on the first floor. We’d hoped five of us could share one room and hang out together in the evenings, but extra beds weren’t available, so we had to split up. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a faint wood smell and tidy retro decor. I forgot to take photos, unfortunately. We were on a tight budget and wanted to stay near central Tainan. When we found OAOA's Facebook page and asked about room types and prices, the rates turned out to be much, much lower than our budget. The soundproofing wasn’t great, though it didn’t keep us from sleeping. For the price, it was a real bargain. We had a wonderful three-day stay. Thanks, owner!
