Changyu Hotel

The room was modern and comfortable enough, and I didn’t have any real problems. The bathroom layout was a little odd but still worked. I noticed some street noise even up on the 10th floor. The windows are big, though the view isn’t much, and their position makes you want to keep them shut. The trash can and the bottom of a curtain were dirty, but the room was otherwise clean enough. Breakfast had a decent range of choices.

The location made getting to the train station easy, and the price was great. I stayed a few nights and found the room clean and nicely furnished. Everyone was friendly, and I was very comfortable here. I’d definitely come back.

We’ve stayed here with family quite a few times and used to think it was really good, especially the food, service, and cleanliness. On this visit, though, the breakfast had gone downhill. It was edible, just not as good as before. There was also a small shard of glass on the floor, and I stepped on it and hurt my leg. Maybe it hadn’t been vacuumed thoroughly. A child could get hurt too. The room didn’t even have a roll of toilet paper, and its square shape felt claustrophobic compared with the rectangular rooms at other hotels. There were some nice things. The hair dryer wasn’t so hot that it burned my scalp, and they provided an actual flashlight in case an earthquake cuts the power. I also thought the little lobby book where guests can write or draw something to show they stayed was cute. It was an okay stay, but not like it used to be.

Only about 700 meters from Tainan local train station, this is a cozy, clean place. The room is small, but laid out so well that it doesn’t feel cramped. There’s plenty of space at the front desk, along with some artistic displays.
