Inn-itiate Tainan

I already miss this place, even though I’ve only just left. The owner was every bit as warm and friendly as the online reviews suggest, answered our questions quickly, and gave thoughtful tips for local food. It made the trip more enjoyable. The location is so convenient: Hai'an Road is right outside, Shuixian Palace is an easy walk for a meal, and Zhengxing Street’s shopping area is close by. Inside, it’s a peaceful break from the busy city. The room was clean, with a soft bed and warm blankets that made it easy to sleep till morning. There’s also a powerful hairdryer, a real help if you have long hair. Don’t miss the Qiyingzhi in the room, it’s a local specialty. Definitely my first choice for a future visit to Tainan.

The owner made the stay feel especially warm, and the actual experience was even better than the care you can sense in the past reviews and replies. Before and during the trip, he shared food and drink spots, including little-known places and the stories behind the restaurants. It helped us feel more connected to the local community. We were in a third-floor tatami room full of adorable vintage collectibles. There wasn’t a big table, which could be awkward if you’re bringing snacks back, but it didn’t matter much since we’d eaten a lot and mainly wanted to rest. The thick mattress and blankets were comfortable, and the bathroom had strong water pressure and pleasantly relaxing temperatures. The owner provided a comfortable place and such a welcoming experience for a very reasonable price. I recommend booking through Line. Qi Ying Ju has so many good points I had to make sure I mentioned them all 😆 I’ll come back next time I’m in Tainan. Wishing Qi Ying Ju continued success!

The room looked even nicer in person than it did online, and the mattress was carefully chosen, really comfortable and relaxing. Water pressure was strong and hot water came through quickly. There was no bottled water or toiletries, but I appreciated the water dispenser on the third floor as an eco-friendly option 🥰 The owner was lovely and replied to questions almost immediately. We paid $3000 for a double room for two nights, Thursday to Saturday. Drivers should know the guesthouse has access to the underground parking lot on Haian Road: unlimited entry for 24 hours costs only $200 🅿️ Highly recommend! 😆😆😆

We took a long nap on the very soft, comfortable bed in our spacious, well-equipped third-floor tatami room 😴 There was a water dispenser right outside. The stairs were narrow and made luggage a little awkward, and eating in the room wasn’t very convenient. But the owner was so kind and warm that those little issues didn’t bother us much 😆 They’d checked our arrival time ahead of time, with more flexibility than a typical hotel, so we could go out for delicious food without our luggage. When we checked out, the owner also readily let us leave our bags and gave us a room key so we could easily return for them. I had to write this as soon as we left. We didn’t exchange guest lists with the owner, but Qi Ying Ju will be my first choice next time I visit Tainan ☺
