At 1050 yuan for a double room, it felt like good value. The place was clean, simple, and hygienic, with a coffee machine in the shared area. Louisa Coffee and a 7-Eleven are downstairs, and the bridge and train station are very close. I could sometimes hear cars outside the window, but it didn’t disturb my sleep.

The room was very clean, and there was a coffee machine by the elevator entrance. I was driving from Taipei to Kenting, got exhausted, and stopped in Tainan to sleep. Google Maps turned up this reasonably priced self-catering suite. The owner was helpful and called to explain the lock and key. Even over Lunar New Year, it was a reasonable NT$2500 a night. My first stay in Tainan went really well 😁

For $900 on a weekday, this is good value, and I’d consider coming back to Tainan and staying here again. There’s free parking in the backyard for motorcycles, and the location is handy for the bridge, train station, and Chi Mei Hospital. Louisa Cafe is downstairs, with lots of snack shops across the road. The room was fairly clean, simple, and comfortable, with a roomy bathroom. But after a shower the whole bathroom floor gets wet, so a separate shower and toilet area would help. The mattress felt firm and the pillows were high. The air conditioning seemed faulty: I couldn’t adjust either the temperature or vent direction, and it got very cold at night. Two blankets would be helpful. Being near Chi Mei Hospital and the bridge also means ambulance sirens and street racers are clearly audible at night and disturbing.
