Silks Place Tainan

The room was really spacious, and the large multifunction dividers helped block hallway noise at night. There could be plenty of coming and going in the evening, but once the divider was closed it kept outside distractions away, and I slept well. It was a comfortable stay, and I’d come back. I also saw the outdoor rooftop pool on level 4 on the way from breakfast, with a staffed gym nearby that has equipment and weights. Impressive. There’s complimentary parking in the building basement, levels B5-B7, which is handy since Tainan’s streets are narrow and tricky to navigate. An attached shopping center has interesting shops, mostly Japanese, and there are lots of dining choices and things to see within walking distance. Breakfast has two options. We chose the Chinese one, a Hong Kong-style buffet with dim sum, roast duck, and other cooked dishes. Vegetarian guests can ask for dishes made for them, along with buffet items marked with green cards. You can also make your own half-coffee, half-tea yinyang drink, a fun bit of drink mixing that breaks up the usual Taiwanese breakfast routine.

It’s definitely on the expensive side, so it may not suit someone looking for a budget stay. For a restful break and a chance to recover from travel fatigue, though, it was perfect. The room was incredibly spacious, the service excellent, and the location very convenient, right beside a department store. Highly recommended!

After flying more than 12 hours to visit relatives, I appreciated how quiet the hotel was. It’s beautiful, with spacious rooms and very large windows, and the staff and service were wonderful. Mitsukoshi is right next door and has pretty much everything you might need, so finding somewhere to eat is easy too.

The room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed, a large open bathroom, and a shower with good pressure and hot water. We also appreciated the welcome extras: face masks, snacks, and complimentary tea in the mini fridge. As an eco-friendly touch, the hotel supplies a water jug and has refill stations on every floor. We didn’t use them, but there are discount vouchers for the hotel restaurants. Getting around was convenient, about a 30-minute drive from Tainan HSR station and a 15-20 minute walk to the old town Tainan market. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
