The room was a decent size and clean, and the hairdryer wasn't mounted on the wall. The bathroom also had a separate wet and dry area. It's about a five-minute walk to Nanfang Shopping Center. But the soundproofing is awful. The hallway echoes so much that, even from the third floor, I heard people coming and going downstairs. My bed backed onto the next room's bathroom wall, and I could make out the water running and even the showerhead being put back. The window didn't seal tightly either, so traffic rushing past and people talking outside came through clearly.

Being near Anping made it easy to explore at an easy pace. Anping Fort and the treehouse were about a 10-minute scooter ride away. The house really does feel welcoming, partly because the owners are so friendly. They make breakfast by hand, including radish cake and egg pancakes, fresh and much better than the kind from a breakfast shop. The room had lots of little decorations and a warm feel, with clear care put into it. Even the name is adorable.

The main thing to keep in mind is the traffic noise. This is an old house and its windows don't seal well, so I'd strongly suggest bringing earplugs. For the price and the kind of guesthouse it is, though, I'd give it full marks. The location is personal preference, but it suited me and was just a short walk from Nanfang. My room was plain, clean, and had no smell, which mattered to me as a bit of a clean freak. It had the essentials, a strong shower, and a stylish, elegant look.

The sound carries terribly through these walls. I could hear hallway noise and even the neighbors playing Avalon. The room layout in reality didn't match the room layout shown.
