Windhouse B&B - Tainan Room

It takes a bit of walking to get to public transport, but the place is quiet enough.

The room was simple, clean, and comfortable. Just keep in mind that you have to climb stairs to reach the bed, so this may not work if walking is difficult. I’d stay again if I needed a night in Tainan. Highly recommended!

Being right across the street from National Cheng Kung University Hospital makes this a very convenient place for patients’ families. The guesthouse knew the family was caring for their child at the hospital and thoughtfully suggested places to get dinner.

For two people staying Saturday night, the Wind Chime Tree room was a great deal. It’s room type Wind Chime Tree, not the duplex. I booked for the first time through Line and paid in full. Check-in was self-service, and around 3 PM the housekeeper sent the entry code, the key-card box code, and a short explanation of how to get into the room. To find room number 2, park in a roadside space, walk down the alley with the fish and yellow ducks, then turn right toward the panda mural wall. The black, round lock is mounted near the doorknob. After entering the code, you’ll see the counter with the key-card holder. Turn the box’s number dials to open it and take out the card, which you scan at the doorknob. Inside, you need to insert a room key into the slot on the left wall to turn on the electricity. There are two keys in total, one already in the room and one from the front desk. The room is well equipped: a dehumidifier, clothes rack and hangers, kettle, bottled mineral water, TV and TV box, sink mirror, razor, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, mouthwash cup, mop, towels and bath towels, and a small sofa. The hair dryer is very powerful and dries quickly without making your fingers ache. The bathroom has an adjustable showerhead, shower gel, shampoo, and a bin under the sink. There’s another bin by the door handle. Water pressure and hot water were excellent. I liked the warm lighting, gray walls, and painted TV wall. There are plenty of outlets and extension cords, including outlets and a light switch by the bed. Big windows bring in morning sun, and the blind-like curtains close. It was very quiet both morning and evening, with excellent soundproofing, and I slept really well. The down comforter wasn’t heavy, and the pillows were just right, neither too high nor too low, and not too soft. Check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is before 11 AM. Before leaving, clean the bins and put the trash in the bins near the counter. I returned my key to the small box, took photos and video, and sent them to the housekeeper. Pressing the button to the left of the main entrance opens the door. The whole self-check-in and check-out process felt thoughtful and easy.
