Rose Boutique Hotel Xinsheng

We were happy with how clean everything was, and the light breakfast and snacks were a nice extra. The room was a little small, but we enjoyed our three-day stay and would book here again.

It’s in a quiet residential area, but the rooms feel dated, with odd decor and wallpaper that’s peeling and very moldy. We kept running into something broken: the safe, lights, plugs, AC, phone, and even the hot water at night. WiFi was unreliable too, and the staff weren’t helpful or professional.

The room was spacious, modern, and clean, and the staff were polite and friendly. Behind the lobby there’s a comfortable lounge for eating or relaxing, with free drinks, snacks, and instant noodles. You can borrow pool balls and darts from the concierge. The hotel sits in a residential alley, though it’s only a 5-10 minute walk to the metro and there’s plenty of food nearby. Many places close early, and there isn’t much else to do around there.

We were given a free upgrade, and the staff were lovely. They explained the free snack bar downstairs and went over a few things about cleaning and checkout. The cleaning staff did a great job, and for the price and location it would be hard to find a room this spacious. The room had some issues, though. The WiFi wouldn’t connect and the TV remote didn’t work. We didn’t call the desk and just made the most of a break from screens. The fan, heater, and AC are positioned so the air blows at your face while you sleep, which wasn’t pleasant. There was also a nail sticking out of the bathroom wall, high above the toilet. It wasn’t likely to hurt anyone, but it made the lack of care in maintaining the rooms pretty clear.
