AKA Hotel

The location was excellent, and the water pressure on the 10th floor was great. About half the staff were courteous, but the cleanliness was awful. I walked in and found a clump of someone else’s hair on the floor. They said they’d clean it the next day, so I asked to switch rooms because I didn’t think the carpet had been vacuumed in a while. It’s supposed to be a new hotel, yet the room had dirty wallpaper and chipped paint in both the bathroom and living room. There are no peepholes in the doors, and guests have to take their used towels, sheets and garbage to the second floor to get fresh ones. This was one of the worst hotels I’ve tried in a while. I stayed one night, couldn’t sleep, and checked out. I don’t know how other reviewers got clean rooms.

I felt unsafe at AKA Hotel. Someone tried to force my room door open in the afternoon, then the same thing happened again around 2 a.m. We were already asleep when the handle was yanked hard, which was terrifying. I called the front desk. The staff were polite and came up to help, but said they couldn’t review earlier CCTV footage to see who it was. That was really concerning for guest safety. I hope nobody else has to go through the same experience.

At AKA Hotel, the door handle suddenly started rattling hard, as if someone was trying to force it open, but there was nobody outside. It happened at random, even in the middle of the night, and felt really eerie. Staff couldn’t explain it, and there was no CCTV review available to check what had happened. It seemed supernatural. Definitely not for the faint-hearted, the place gave me serious haunted vibes.

YongKang park gets lively at night, and there are plenty of little shops and places to eat within a five-minute walk. The location worked really well for exploring. The room was clean and nice, and the price was better than nearby options. Room service is limited and there's no gym, so it's a good fit for a short trip.
