ARK Hotel-Chang'an Fuxing

We found the hotel quite central, and could reach the tourist attractions easily by bus and train. Our windowless room was well-kept, and the hotel has a washing machine, dryer, and detergent for guests to do laundry. It was worth the money. I left a skirt behind at checkout, and the staff patiently helped over several calls despite the language barrier. They kept it for a month. Near the end of that month, a friend was in Taipei for a few days, so a staff member personally delivered the skirt to his hotel to make sure he got it before leaving Taipei. They were exceptionally kind and helpful.

The staff were attentive, and the facilities were clean. Free laundry is a HUGE plus, and there’s a central area where you can work or eat. The room was a bit small, but that’s about right for a city hotel. It has international outlets, though they’re very loose from wear and your plugs fall right out. Great location and an awesome price through Agoda.

The room was ready and clean, which had been my main worry since we only needed somewhere to sleep and I hadn’t expected much. We had no problems during our stay. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the location worked perfectly for us. The service and room condition made it feel well worth it.

The cleaner seemed annoyed when she arrived while we were still in the room. Housekeeping was poor throughout the stay: our used mugs were left there, and instead of taking away our old slippers, they left them lying around and added another pair each day.
