Beimen Wow Poshtel - Hostel

Good price and a good stay. The common area is a nice place to eat, relax, or watch the TV projector. The Metro and Taipei Main Station are accessible, though Ximending is a bit far, about a 30-35-minute walk. We booked a bunk bed with a private bathroom. The room wasn’t spacious, but there was enough room to move around and open luggage one piece at a time. The sink and bathroom were clean, with toilet paper, a bidet, shower gel, and shampoo. The shower had hot and cold settings. The bed was somewhat hard, and I hope they add another pillow, but for the price it was okay. The air-conditioning worked well, and there was a humidifier and TV. Soundproofing seemed okay from our assigned room. The front desk staff spoke English and could help, but the desk isn’t open 24/7. A key card is needed to enter the hostel for safety.

We’re on our second night here and really like this hostel. The rooms are a bit small but very clean. You can hear bathroom noise at night since it’s inside the room, so earplugs might help. Service has been cordial and helpful. The basement common space is our favorite part. There’s a well-equipped, clean kitchen and plenty of room to sit and relax. The location is very good, near the main station. For what we paid, it feels just right. We recommend it!

I stayed in a mixed dorm for a little over a week and had a very pleasant time. The staff were polite and helpful, and the receptionists were friendly and kind. The same woman helped me at both check-in and check-out. For Muslim travelers, the toilets have hand bidets, and there’s enough room in the dorm to pray. The cozy common area has the pantry and kitchen facilities you need, plus free tea and coffee. Several bus stops are within walking distance, the nearest MRT is about a 10-minute walk, and there’s a FamilyMart just a few steps away. Highly recommended for fellow Malaysians and Muslim travelers!

Don’t stay here!!!! Taiwan is already hot and humid, and this place doesn’t even have AC. There was only a small electric fan in the room. I woke up overheated several times, had trouble breathing, and even had an allergic skin reaction. The room was damp and dark, with a strong musty smell from the walls and every corner, and after a while I started feeling unwell and a bit dizzy. It really didn’t feel like a healthy environment. With so many people packed into such a small space, the air was extremely stuffy and hard to breathe. The bathroom was incredibly small, and its door wouldn’t close properly, so there was basically no privacy.
