Caesar Metro Taipei

The location is perfect for getting around by train or metro. The rooms are very small and only average for comfort, with nothing especially memorable. The tub is tiny even for one person. It feels like a four-star hotel with five-star prices.

There are plenty of authentic Taiwanese breakfast spots nearby, and #3 Xingning St is especially good. It’s also easy to reach the MRT and banking, including an ATM, and the walk to Ximen has lots of food and history. Overall, a great place to stay. One issue: the bar on level 5 had one overworked staff member handling drinks, beer, food and coffee. Prices were inconsistent, too. One day we got a guest discount, the next a surcharge. Management should sort that out.

The service was excellent, and breakfast on 5F had a variety of styles. Parking was reserved in front of the hotel, with 7-11 and Family mart nearby. There’s no locker room, but they’ll store your luggage. Longshan Temple is very close, about 250 meters away: turn left, walk through Wanhua Station, cross two small streets and you’ll reach Longshan temple station.

For the price, Caesar Metro Taipei is a solid choice if you care more about convenience than room size. It’s right beside Wanhua train station, a two to three minute walk from Longshan Temple MRT, and within easy walking distance of Ximending and the temple. There are plenty of local places to eat and lots of 7-Elevens and FamilyMarts. The hotel’s Starbucks is handy, and the outdoor pool is a nice extra in summer. Rooms run small, and the lifts can get busy at peak times, especially with tour groups.
