Deja Vu Hotel

There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and Sogo malls and the Metro station are close, so the location is good. The room itself felt old, with cracks, stains, and yellowing, though fortunately no bad smell. The bathroom setup was awkward: the shower was very low, but there was no stool, and standing felt too high, so I ended up sitting in the bathtub. It should be fine if you only need a night's sleep. If you like spending time in your room, maybe not.

I stayed four nights and would book again. The rate was great for the room, and the staff and service were friendly. The MRT is right nearby, making it easy to reach places like the night market, trade center, and malls.

The building smelled strongly of mold as soon as I walked in. The room had that smell too, even with an air purifier and the air-conditioning set to 10 degrees on high. I asked to switch rooms, but was told they all smelled the same, which I believe. I ended up sleeping in a mask, like I was in a hospital. It was insane. The hotel is very old and poorly maintained. I found dust and hair in many areas, and got the impression they put more effort into the public spaces than the rooms. The photos on trip.com didn't match what I saw, while the comments on Google seemed more accurate. I felt cheated, and wondered where the positive reviews were coming from. I posted these comments, but trip. Com rejected them.

The location is very good and the price is low, but I wouldn't call it good value. You can find a similar price at an older, clean hotel. I won't stay again. The property is old and moldy, and upkeep seems focused on the public areas. I found mold, dust, and hairs on the bedding, which made me think it might not have been changed before my stay. Booking sites said there was only one room left, but when I asked about changing rooms, I was shown several empty ones. They were just as bad, with mold and grime.
