Grand Mayfull Hotel Taipei

The breakfast buffet stood out, with fresh, delicious Taiwanese and international dishes to choose from. The pool, gym, and spa were also beautifully maintained, and the location was handy for shopping and restaurants while still feeling peaceful. At Grand Mayfull Taipei, check-in was smooth and professional. My room was elegant, spotless, and equipped with modern amenities, with a good balance of comfort and luxury. The staff were polite and helpful, and made me feel welcome. It was a true 5-star experience, and I’d love to stay again.

I slept well because the room was quiet, aside from a few sirens on two mornings. There’s a pleasant fragrance throughout the building, and breakfast at palette was excellent if it’s included. Staff were very nice and accommodating. The fitness center was clean and well equipped, and the adjacent wellness center had a nice sauna, cold plunge, and hot soak area. My room was spacious, modern, clean, and almost perfect. The shower was the best we’ve had, and the bidet was next level, raising the seat and flushing automatically with sensors. The minibar was included. A few small things got in the way of perfection. Light came in around the edge of one window, and the buttons glowed when off, which wasn’t ideal since I like the room completely dark to sleep. The pillows were so soft they had no structure. We also needed a swimming cap to use the pool. We only wanted to bounce around rather than swim laps, so we ended up skipping it.

My room was spacious and quiet, and I appreciated the sauna and the daily complimentary minibar refills with snacks and drinks. The stay was comfortable overall, but the breakfast area’s hygiene and the staff response need improvement. I’m very sensitive to insects, which is why I chose a 5-star hotel to feel safe and comfortable. On the first day, I saw a cockroach by the bread. Staff removed it right away, but didn’t apologize or explain anything. I planned to skip breakfast the next day, but most local food didn’t suit my taste, so I went back thinking it probably wouldn’t happen twice. Then we saw another cockroach on the wall by the Dim Sum and Japanese curry section. Two different family members saw it in different spots. If you’re sensitive to insects like me, this may be useful to know.

I found the prices far too high for what the hotel offers, especially the food, which was expensive and very poor in quality. The place also felt impersonal, which isn’t what I expect from a five-star hotel. Respectfully, the photos show exactly what you’ll find there. After I injured myself, I asked to change my dates and the request was denied. I sent the manager all my medical documentation, but they still couldn’t understand what I needed. It left me feeling that the staff cared solely about money rather than welcoming guests. I suggest checking Google Maps, where nearby hotels at similar or lower prices offer decidedly better service. The staff need to learn how tourism works.
