CHECK inn Express Taipei Station

We expected a basic but clean budget stay, but the room was in poor shape and nothing like the photos. The wallpaper was stained and peeling, the floors were uneven, wiring was exposed, and there was a strong mildew smell. Fixtures were badly installed and in subpar condition too. The plumbing is outdated, and toilet paper can't be flushed, which wasn't a problem at most other places we've stayed in Taiwan. After checking other rooms and finding the same issues, we left early and stayed elsewhere. Given the condition of the rooms and how the hotel is represented online, a refund seems justified.

The room was clean and tidy, and the shower pressure was good. It's close to places to eat and easy to get around. Just enough for what you pay.

The rooms are small but clean, and there are plenty of places to eat and convenience stores nearby. It's about an 8-10 minute walk to the underground mall, which connects to Taipei Main Station. The Y13 exit is almost opposite the entrance to the Taoyuan Airport MRT line, so getting to the airport is convenient. Check-in at 5pm is pretty late, which cost it a star, though you can leave your luggage in the lobby first. Service was excellent, especially from the lady staff member working 23/5 to 24/5. They were very nice about bringing extra pillows when I asked.

The hotel is about 10 minutes from Taipei Airport Express Station, with shops, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby. But my stay was the worst of all my Taipei trips. The building feels old and smells bad, and there was a lingering sewage odor throughout the hotel and rooms, the kind that's typical of Taipei. The room walls were old and dirty, and it's hard to understand why they'd leave them like that. Message support ignored me for hours when something fairly urgent came up, even though we had been in touch for a while. It's cheap, but the service isn't there, and I wouldn't expect international service standards. I won't use the checkinn hotel chains again.
