I was very pleased with the stay, especially for the price, since there isn’t another hostel in this area at the same price. The public area was comfortable. I booked a bed in a female shared dorm because I had an early appointment in Da An and didn’t want to deal with morning traffic. I only needed a place for 12 hours, and this worked. The sleeping room smelled a little musty at first, though the public area didn’t, and the smell cleared up around the middle of the night, maybe when there was less movement. My bed’s blind left a wide, noticeable vertical gap facing the door, so it didn’t give much privacy. My roommates were great, considerate, and respectful, though. I’ve stayed in hostels with no blinds at all. For check-in, use the kiosk on the right after getting off the elevator. You need to scan your ID by pushing it all the way in and holding it there. There was someone at the desk, which was a pleasant surprise since reviews had led me to expect no one. Body wash and shampoo are provided, but bring your own towels, toothbrush, and toothpaste.

The stay was affordable, and the service was what made it special. I hurt my ankle while I was there, and a staff member named Alice went out of her way to help me. I’m really grateful for her kindness. She’s a credit to the hotel team!

The location is solid, but the room left a lot to be desired. It was windowless, with bunk beds and an uncomfortable two-seat sofa. The budget hotel seems to be in a converted office building, and there was almost no soundproofing, so it was super noisy.

The view from the big window is nice, and everything was still good when I came back with my family this summer, two years after my first stay. The Korean staff especially stood out. I’d recommend the hotel for solo travelers or groups of friends.

The park right outside is beautiful, and there’s space inside to eat and look out. The room had plenty of room to relax, with a little couch where I could watch TV instead of sitting on the bed. There was a microwave, and the showers are separated for men and women, with about two showers and two bathrooms available. Check-in is self-service just outside the elevator, and the instructions sent after booking make it easy to find the hotel. You use a key card to enter the hotel and your room, which felt pretty secure. The train outside is convenient, and that same line goes to Taipei 101.
